Journey to the Sea & Path by Michael Francis Cartwright
‘Journey to the Sea’ a massive project taking over a year to complete, a 50 meter long by varying heights, 2.2 to 5 meter high painting, oil on linen and stretched over frames. There were other smaller sections of the project including ‘Path’ and original designed bronze handle pulls.
The restaurant has now closed while the painting has been recommissioned for M on the Bund restaurant in Shanghai.
We were commissioned as artists in residence for a month at CIS, Hong Kong where we created our art in the open and in the classroom for the students to be able to see the process and discuss with us about living and working as an artist.
Setting free the Golden Carp by Michael Francis Cartwright
We were commissioned as artists in residence for a month at Yew Chung school, Hong Kong. We created three projects: A series of ‘Harvest’ bronze sculptures to raise funds for new schools in China; ‘Lost in the Cosmos’ an entrance mosaic to the school and ‘Setting free the Golden Carp’, an entrance work for the school gallery.
