Ponte a Serraglio is the small locality on the river Lima in Bagni di Lucca. It is from here you can drive, catch a bus, order a taxi or walk to Pieve di Monti di Villa. There is: Bar Italia; Jaquelene's internet point with WiFi covering the Piazza; Il Monaco, gelateria with home made ice cream; restaurants, galleries, a chemist, news stand, hairdressers, and if you cannot find what you want there, you will, in the La Villa, the main center of Bagni di Lucca, 1 kilometer up the road.  Bagni di Lucca has been known for its thermal springs since the Roman times and probably before with the Ligurians, the original people of the hills. Today you can enjoy the baths, a short walk above the Ponte a Serraglio, in the ancient steam caves used by famous people of the past, Paolina Bonaparte, Lord Byron, the Shelleys and many more. There is also the Villagio Globale where you can enjoy holistic medicine, or bathe in the naturally heated spring waters in a massive marble bath complete with soft music and candles.
